“ Been to Mountain a couple of times now, the food never disappoints, easy to understand why they have a Michelin star. My favourites are definitely the spider crab omelette, wild mushrooms, mutton chops and wood fired rice. However the seafood main options are all outstanding. you The restaurant has 2 floors, the ground floor is definitely nicer than downstairs as you can see the action in the open kitchen and it is just livelier. I do think the service is better than downstairs too. ”
“ We wanted a special dinner for our last night in London and chose Mountain Beak - what a perfect choice. The busy restaurant is centrally located in soho, and has creative extra tasty Spanish-type cuisine, great drinks and a hip youthful vibe. The highlights were the wood fired rice, the baked bread and the wild mushrooms. Highly recommended!! ”
“ Food was delicious - there wasn't a dud dish. Between 4 of us we had the oysters, Walnut bread (delicious) Venison tartare, artichoke (a highlight), snow crab omelette, beef sweetbreads, Dover sole, the Tamworth chops (a beast!), wood fired rice, bitter leaf anchovies, puddings, cocktails & wine. Came to 470 with service (service was good). We were sat in a booth downstairs. Great music. ”
“ So much deliciousness! We started with the grilled langoustines, grilled asparagus with egg yolk, crab omelet, and raw monkfish with scallops. For mains we had the rice and whole John Dory. Everything was so good that we used the bread to soak up all the sauces on the plates! Great wine list as well, we opted for a 2016 red Bourgogne by Boisson. Paired beautifully with everything. Will definitely go back! ”
“ Despite being nearly 25 minutes late for our reservation, staff were welcoming and quickly accommodated us, seating us immediately. The service was excellent and the staff explained the menu well with good suggestions on what quantities to order with it being tapas-style with some larger plates as well. Everything was delicious and many of the tables have a direct view of the open kitchen. Looking forward to visiting again! ”
“ This was my first experience at Mountain, but the staff made me feel like a regular from the moment I walked through the door. I was welcomed warmly and escorted to my perch at the wine bar, where I had a perfect view of the entire top floor—the hustle, the bustle, the energy. The open kitchen was absolutely cranking, a well-oiled machine producing dishes that looked not just delicious but genuinely beautiful. As I sat, taking it all in, I was greeted by Marianna, the sommelier, who guided me through the extensive menu. She offered thoughtful suggestions for a hungry solo diner, recommending portions and pairings that made the experience feel tailored just for me. I started with the cockles—herbaceous and savory, bathing in a broth that practically begged for bread. And not just any bread: grilled over flames, served warm, with soft butter ready to spread. Marianna paired it perfectly with a crisp, minerally Chenin Blanc. Delish! Next came one of the most flavorful salads I’ve had in a long time: beetroot, apple, walnut, and mint, all tossed in a vibrant vinaigrette. The flavors blended beautifully, and honestly, I could eat this every day—“with a spoon,” as Marianna joked. Alongside it, I enjoyed a flawlessly cooked a la plancha short rib, presented both sliced and on the bone, with a silky sauce perfect for swirling each bite. A gorgeous Pinot Noir complemented it all wonderfully. Instead of dessert, I opted for a soft sheep’s milk cheese served with walnut bread and apple compote—an elegant, lightly sweet finish that paired perfectly with the rest of my Pinot. While the meal was outstanding, it was the staff who truly elevated the experience. Despite the busy service, they always found time to flash a bright smile or stop by for a quick, genuine chat. Their energy, enthusiasm, and warmth turned a delicious dinner into a truly memorable night. I have a few favorites when I visit London, but I’ll be sure to save a night for a return to Mountain. ”
“ I had the most fabulous, nearly 2-hour solo lunch, sitting at the counter with delicious food and wonderful, warm service. Can't wait to come back with the other half and get stuck into the sharing plates! Special shout out to lovely Rachel and all the service team who couldn't have looked after me better. Also their knowledge of the menu and the drinks was second to none. All so professional but un-stuffy with it. Bench mark! Thank you so much and see you again, Emily from Jersey ”
“ Exceptional service, brilliant food, unsurpassed open-kitchen atmosphere. Mountain is everything it has been made out to be and more. Brat 2.0. The menu is varied and well-balanced, and the staff make you feel right at home. We came to celebrate a birthday and now we'll be back with the family the night before our wedding in a few weeks. Thank you, Chef, Mathilda, and everyone else. Our new favourite spot in London! ”
